Will Smith hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning and Chris Taylor went deep twice as the Los Angeles Dodgers pulled out a 3-2 victory Sunday against the visiting Colorado Rockies.
Smith s fourth homer in seven games just cleared the wall in left-center field off Rockies right-hander Carlos Estevez (2-2). It was his 14th of the season.
Phil Bickford (1-1) pitched a scoreless eighth inning to earn the victory, while Joe Kelly earned his first save with a scoreless ninth inning.
The Rockies took a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning following Raimel Tapia s leadoff walk. Tapia stole second base, went to third on Brendan Rodgers ground out and scored on Trevor Story s two-out single.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Will Smith hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 3-2 on Sunday.
Chris Taylor added a pair of home runs and the short-handed Dodgers won consecutive games against the Rockies with just four total runs.
Smith broke a tie with the home run to left center with one out in the eighth against right-hander Carlos Estevez (2-2). It was his 14th home run of the season and his third in the seven-game homestand.
“He’s a 20-, 25-homer guy for me with a high on-base (percentage) and he’s doing exactly what we’re hoping for,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said about Smith. “Honestly, we’ve plugged him in the middle of the order for the last year and a half and he’s only going to get better.”

LOS ANGELES After a series against the Giants that produced heartbreak on multiple occasions, the Dodgers needed a clear-cut win against the Rockies. But for a third consecutive night, the Dodgers couldn’t maintain their lead as they dropped the series opener to Colorado, 9-6, in 10 innings on Friday at Dodger Stadium.
Jimmie Sherfy was tasked with keeping the Rockies off the board in the 10th or at least keeping the Dodgers within striking distance. But Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon spoiled any semblance of Los Angeles making another comeback in the game.
Story singled in the automatic runner on the fourth pitch of the 10th inning to give the Rockies the lead, and wound up on second as Zach McKinstry bobbled the grounder in left field. The inning continued to unravel as Sherfy wasn’t in command against Blackmon, which showed in the two-run home run to right-center field.
