It was another positive night for the Baby Jays on Thursday, as they were able to pick up 3 wins in 4 games. LJ Talley & Samad Taylor had big games with the bat, but the real positive was the 2021 debut of Thomas Hatch, a strong start from CJ Van Eyk and the professional debut of Nick Frasso

Buffalo picked up the lone loss for the Baby Jays on Thursday night, as they lost 4-1 against Worcester. Aside from it being a Red Sox affiliate, the big piece for Buffalo (and the Jays as a whole) was Thomas Hatch’s 2021 debut. Hatch pitched decently, going 3 innings on 43 pitches. Hatch gave up 3 hits, including a solo HR, while striking out 4 and hitting a batter. Final line showed 2 runs allowed, 1 of which was unearned. MANCHESTER, NH - The Somerset Patriots (6-4) allowed a season-high 12 hits in a 7-3 loss to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (4-6) Friday night at Delta Dental Stadium.
The Fisher Cats opened the scoring with three hits in the bottom of the first against Somerset starter Glenn Otto (L, 1-1), including a two-out RBI double from Jordan Groshans.

Gabriel Moreno grounded a two-out RBI single in the third and Reggie Pruitt lined an RBI single in the sixth against Otto to add to the damage. After Otto left with one out and the bases loaded in the sixth, all three baserunners left came home to score on a wild pitch and a two-run double from Vinny Capra.

I hope that everyone had a good Mother’s Day yesterday. The sun popped out for a bit here in Southern Ontario and that always helps when you are stuck in lock down. As for the Jays organization, all four affiliates were in action 3 times over the weekend, finishing their final games in their first series of the 2021 season. As noted, all the clubs have off-days Monday.
