Awards were released this week from the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association and two Mid-Prairie boys basketball players were honored. The IBCA announced their all-substate awards for class 2A.
Mid-Prairie junior Carter Harmsen was selected. He was also one of just three unanimous elite all River Valley Conference selections. He led the Hawks at 18 points per game, third in the RVC south and seven boards per contest, fourth in the south. He totaled 57 assists, fifth most in the division and 25 steals. He scored 32 points in the Golden Hawks playoff loss to Camanche.
Golden Hawk senior Aidan Rath was also an all-substate team selection. He finished his career posting 10 points per game, ninth in the south, to go along with six and a half rebounds per game, sixth in the RVC south. His 27 blocked shots were third in the division.
