CRANSTON One of the state’s largest cities is calling on Gov. Gina Raimondo to end a curfew that has forced restaurants to close early since Nov. 8.
In a unanimous vote Thursday night, Cranston’s City Council voted to appeal to the governor in the form of a resolution, which was similar to a resolution embraced on Tuesday by Smithfield’s Town Council.
Cranston state Sen. Frank Lombardi has pledged to introduce a similar resolution in the General Assembly.
From the outset of the pandemic, officials across the state, including Raimondo, have been greatly concerned about its effect on restaurants.
