SPOKANE, Wash. Two men broke into a woman’s house in Spokane Valley and attacked her, knocking her unconscious and causing serious injuries. Now, Spokane Valley Police detectives are asking for help identifying her attackers.
Deputies responded to the report of an assault on Monday afternoon at a home near 16th and Adams in Spokane Valley. The victim had cuts on her head and body; she told deputies two men attacked her and she didn’t know how they got into her home.
The victim was unable to identify her attackers, but investigators believe she was a specific target and that this was not a random attack.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. Spokane Valley Police took down a robbery suspect at the Rite Aid near Sprague and Pines Sunday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a report of a man, later identified as 46-year-old Christopher Sanchez, armed with a knife threatening a store employee at the Rite Aid.
Officers arrived at the scene and saw Sanchez crossing Sprague with two women, with witnesses pointing at him and identifying him as the suspect.
Two other deputies found Sanchez at Value Village. They identified themselves and told Sanchez to stop. Sanchez ignored the commands and said, “No! I didn’t do anything.” Deputies then noticed a large knife on Sanchez’s hip, which prompted an officer to load his shotgun with non-lethal bean bag rounds.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. A driver in a stolen car crashed into a box truck just after 10 a.m. on Friday.
The crash occurred at South Dishman Mica Rd. between Eighth and 16th Avenue.
Spokane Valley Police confirmed the car was stolen and the driver and passenger were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck had minor injuries and did not need to go to the hospital.
Spokane Valley Police said the driver of the stolen vehicle is 31-year-old Jason McWhirk, a wanted, convicted felon. Once released from the hospital, they said he will face charges including vehicular assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The 16-year-old was last seen at around 3:30 p.m. on April 13, 2021.

SPOKANE, Wash. The Spokane Valley Police Department is looking to the public for help locating a teenager who may have run away from her residential living facility.
Kazmira Swanson, 16, was last seen at around 3:30 p.m. on April 13 at a residential living facility near Mayhew Road.
Swanson is a white female, approximately 5 4 tall, 115 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing pink pajama pants and a gray, zip-up sweatshirt.
In a press release from SVPD, they said Swanson is new to the area and has a history of running away. Swanson may be susceptible to the influence of strangers and may be in a dangerous situation. Police said she also suffers from depression and operates mentally at an 8-year-old level.
