The CW s All American had been one series which had managed a small, dedicated group of fans, but didn t seem poised to really set the ratings on fire, despite it being given time to find an audience. That, however, changed in a major way when the teen drama hit Netflix, and now star Taye Diggs is talking about how the spike in popularity feels.

All American season 3: Bre-Z on making music for Coop

Coop s music career is looking bright on From the start, Bre-Z related to Coop. The Crenshaw teen who loves to rap – just like the actress who plays her – takes on other people s problems, going to huge lengths to make things better for the people around her. Going into the role, I saw the same level of empathy that I have in real life, she shares. Bringing music into Coop s storyline allows Bre-Z to connect to her character on a deeper level, artist to artist. Coop has been through a lot while supporting her best friend Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) on his football journey, but going into season 3 it seems like it s her turn to stand in the spotlight. After navigating a dangerous situation with gangs in her neighborhood and beginning her rap career, season 2 ended with Coop going on an indie tour, taking a big step towards her musical dreams.
