Mail-in and early in-person voting for the Georgia runoff election has already begun and there s just about two weeks until Election Day. With control of the Senate on the line, Democrats and Republicans have a vested interest in the outcome of the race between Perdue and Ossoff and Georgians have already cast about 500,000 ballots.
On average, Perdue has a .8 point lead over his Democratic challenger, according to FiveThirtyEight, a margin that makes for a statistical tie. The most recent poll came out on Thursday from Emerson College and gave Perdue a 3 point advantage, a lead that s within the poll s margin of error.
The U.S. blew past records for daily new Covid-19 cases and virus deaths on Wednesday, as the national crisis continues to worsen. Veterans Group Spends Almost $2 Million on David Perdue Attack Ad

A progressive veterans group plans to spend almost $2 million on adverts targeting Senator David Perdue in Georgia as he prepares to contest a runoff election against Democrat Jon Ossoff in less than a month s time.
The VoteVets group released an advert on Friday that took aim at Perdue s stock trades, business dealings and voting record as they questioned whether the Republican senator could be trusted in the upper chamber.

Politico that the group planned to spend $1.75 million on TV attack ads in Georgia ahead of the Senate runoff elections on January 5. The outcome of the two contests decide which party holds control over the upper chamber until 2022.
