They will be similar to the one held Friday morning, where advocates for renters, excluded workers, and the homeless wanted to wake up Governor Cuomo and urge him to keep them in mind when negotiating the budget. They re calling on the state to fully fund housing, health care, and education in the final budget agreement by taxing the wealthy.

County leaders, along with the Climate Change Task Force, began an equity-centered community climate action plan Wednesday. During their first meeting, they discussed the planning process to create a county prepared for climate change at all levels, from public health, infrastructure, and local businesses. The task force is made up of community-based organizations, advocacy groups, municipalities, and businesses. The group has already implemented some plans in the county, including a composting project at the Alden Correctional Facility, and energy efficient projects at more than 40 county government building

Voting By Mail for Massachusetts Elections Extended

By Spectrum News Staff Worcester PUBLISHED 6:15 PM ET Mar. 16, 2021 PUBLISHED March 16, 2021 @6:15 PM SHARE The option to vote by mail in Massachusetts is officially extended through the spring. Tuesday, Governor Baker signed legislation keeping mail-in voting and early voting options for elections held through June 2021. Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin said this new legislation means towns can also reschedule upcoming elections until later in the spring. Galvin said this will allow time to make arrangements for polling places located in schools using in-person learning.
