CLAY The Clay City Council appointed and swore into office Councilman LeWayne Allen on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, to fill the vacant seat left by former councilor Ben Thackerson’s resignation.

“I’ve been knowing LeWayne for several years,” Mayor Charles Webster said. “…He actually come to me over a year ago and he wanted to serve in some capacity, so he was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Then, he actually run at the last election and here he is going to get to serve out Ben Thackerson’s term. So, we’re glad to have him on board.”

BIRMINGHAM A missing person investigation has been issued for a 37-year-old Birmingham woman.
The Birmingham Police Department requests assistance from the public in locating Holli Jo Wilson.

According to a release from Birmingham police, Wilson’s family members last had contact with her on Thursday, April 15, 2021 via Facebook messenger. She is listed at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds.
Police say Wilson is known to move from location to location. She last resided in the Springville Road area in East Birmingham.
Wilson has a tattoo on her left arm “WALKER’ and a large scar on her left cheek from her lip to her ear, according to BPD. At this time, there is no supporting evidence that Wilson is in any immediate danger; however, her family is concerned about he whereabouts.
