KINGSTON – City buildings and services are to start reopening in the coming days.
The Ontario government is to launch phase one of its reopening plan on Friday and in the days following city facilities and services are to be reopened.

As of Friday, up to 10 people are to be allowed to gather in outdoor settings, including parks and other city sites that are set to reopen, including the tables and chairs in Springer Market Square and the Gord Downie Pier and the beach in Breakwater Park.

The City of Kingston issued a statement today to inform the public of ongoing its discussions and engagement with community members and organizations, including members of the Indigenous community, regarding the legacy of Sir John A. Macdonald.
“This is an important community conversation. I can assure you that staff, councillors, and myself are listening to all of your comments and feedback and we’re committed to working with Kingstonians to find the best path forward,” says Mayor Bryan Paterson.
“We know that community members are re-examining what that path forward looks like since we learned that 215 children have been found in unmarked graves near Kamloops, B.C. and all of us as Canadians must learn more and seek truth as a commitment to reconciliation.”

The popular CBC show “Murdoch Mysteries” is returning to Kingston next week.
The show, which follows the adventures of Canadian detective William Murdoch at the turn of the 20th century, will be filming in several downtown locations between Tuesday and Friday, according to notices sent by the production company to residents in the areas in which filming will take place.
