LMT will be taking a look at the top stories of the year both related to COVID-19 and not at all in a four-part series. New brewery Bull N Bear opens in Summit
Bull N Bear is a new brewery on Springfield Avenue in Summit’s bustling downtown.
Owner William Dodge worked in finance before he decided to turn his home brewing hobby into a business. The name Bull N Bear comes from “bull and bear markets” a bull market is one that is on the rise, a bear market is one that s dipping.
Dodge and head brewer Mike Formisano planned to open in the spring of 2020. Then COVID-19 hit and the opening was delayed. The brewery was finally able to open Dec. 4, launching four beers: a Scotch Ale, a Belgian Dubbel, an English Brown and an IPA.

Cops ID pedestrian struck and killed by car in Cranford

The pedestrian stuck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Cranford has been identified as a 78-year-old resident of the township.
Kenneth Ballman was hit by a southbound car around 6:30 a.m. as he crossed Springfield Avenue just south of the intersection with Orange Avenue, Cranford police said.
Ballman was brought to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 51-year-old driver, a Kenilworth man, stopped and cooperated with police. The crash remains under investigation.
