Sussex County Board of Commissioners condemn deadly Capitol riot
New Jersey Herald
One week after rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol to protest false claims of election fraud, the all-Republican Sussex County Board of Commissioners condemned the violence that left five dead.
The board s four remaining members voiced their opposition to the Jan. 6 riots that resulted in the death of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, a New Jersey native, and four civilians.
“The violence on display at our nation’s Capitol building is completely unacceptable, and the loss of life horrifying,” said Commissioner Director Dawn Fantasia. “We cannot condone violent protests, destruction of property, and blatant disregard for the rule of law, and must hold those who commit acts of violence accountable.”
