Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has expressed joy in seeing talented local Nigeria players fulfil their dreams of playing in Europe as Obi Martins and Samuel Obaleh have completed their transfer to his club in Spain. Omeruo who plied his trade with Spanish Segunda club, Leganes in the division 2 thanked God and his former U-19 Coach, Samule Abimbola for their suport. Speaking at the ongoing screening programme for this academy, Omeruor Football Academy in Gwarinpa Abuja on Thursday, the former Chelsea defender was grateful t God for His grace adding that his priority is to put smile on the faces of talented nigerian footballers in the best way possible he can.

Former Super Eagles winger Tijani Babangida has stated that players plying their trade in Europe’s second tier division do not deserve to be called up to the national team, The PUNCH reports.
Babangida, who is also the President, Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria, stated this during an interview with PUNCH Online interview programme, Kick & Follow, where top stars discuss topical issues in Nigerian sports.
Kenneth Omeruo, William Troost-Ekong and Jamilu Colins are notable players in the Eagles who feature in the second division in Europe.
Omeruo stars for Leganes in the Spanish Segunda division while Troost-Ekong and Collins ply their trade in the English Championship with Watford and the German Bundesliga 2 with Paderborn respectively.
