Fatal crash in Delaware County, name not yet released

KOAM July 29, 2021 2:59 PM Updated: DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. – Troopers investigate a single-vehicle crash in Delaware County, Oklahoma. It happened this morning, July 29, 2021, around 7:00 a.m. southwest of Jay at 488 Road near 484 Road. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Chevy Malibu was “traveling at a high rate of speed,” went off the right side of the road, and hit a tree. The driver died at the scene. 3 Lamar murder suspects now indicted in Oklahoma homicide case

Oklahoma Indictment On Friday, July 23, 2021, a grand jury indicted four more suspects in the kidnapping and death of an Osage Nation resident. This brings the number to eleven Joplin area residents charged related to the case. (Read more on this case here) “The 11 defendants charged were allegedly involved in either the kidnapping and resulting death of Jolene Walker Campbell or with threatening witnesses and concealing evidence to cover up their crimes,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. Campbell’s body was found on July 15, 2020, in a remote field in Mayes County, Oklahoma within the boundaries of the Muscogee Nation. Authorities allege the kidnapping and resulting death happened between July 4 and 5, 2020.
