Following direction from Ontario Health, the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is postponing a small volume of scheduled surgeries effective April 12 to preserve critical care and human resource capacity in the face of increasing COVID-19 case counts and widespread transmission across the province.
Patients whose surgeries will be postponed will be contacted directly by their surgeon’s office. If you do not receive a call, please attend as previously directed.

“We deeply regret the stress and disappointment this announcement may cause,” said Andrew Williams, healthcare alliance president and CEO, in a press release. “It is important that we align with Ontario Health’s direction to ensure that we have the capacity to support our provincial healthcare system so that we may continue to treat patients, with and without COVID-19, who require urgent, lifesaving care.”
