Vermont Business Magazine The owner of Sugarbush and Stratton Mountain resorts in Vermont has a new technical gear partner. Dakine has announced a new four-year partnership, naming Dakine the official glove and bag partner of Alterra Mountain Company’s 15 North American mountain destinations.
This partnership will be activated year-round to support all winter and summer on-mountain activities at each Alterra Mountain Company destination.
From bottomless pow days to sunny laps with friends, Dakine has been a fixture on the mountain for decades.
The year-round partnership with Alterra Mountain Company will bring Dakine’s technical gear to both Alterra Mountain Company guests and staff alike. Dakine’s range of products will be featured at three new retail shop-in-shop locations at Stratton in Vermont, Snowshoe in West Virginia and Big Bear Mountain Resort in Californ

STRATTON MOUNTAIN â Additional appointments are now available for drive-up COVID-19 testing at Stratton Mountain Urgent Care at the Carlos Otis Clinic.
COVID-19 test appointments can be scheduled seven days a week through the Vermont Department of Health website at https://www.healthvermont.gov/covid-19/testing/where-get-tested where availability is listed under âStratton.â
Stratton Mountain Urgent Care at the Carlos Otis Clinic, a state-of-the-art medical facility at 78 Founders Hill Road, serves Stratton guests, employees and the community for general and urgent medical care and COVID-19 testing in collaboration with the Vermont Department of Health.

In honor of Black History Month, we, the Assistant Town Historians, wanted to show you, our readers the stories of Greenburgh’s first African-American police officers. We would like to examine the lives of the: first black officer in Greenburgh, first black ranking officer in Greenburgh, and the first Community Relations Officer.

Detective Henry Heath:
Detective Henry Heath was Greenburgh’s first ever African-American police officer. He was appointed to Police Officer on February 1, 1950 and promoted to Detective February 8, 1961 (Personal Communication from Police Chief Chris McNerney).

STRATTON â Nearly 200 people attended the Stratton Mountain School Winter Ball on Jan. 30 in support of the Stratton Mountain School Scholarship Fund, which provides student scholarships and educational resources for nearly 45 percent of the schoolâs student-athletes. The gala and silent auction, which took place online due to COVID-19 safety concerns, raised almost $215,000, making it the most successful event in its 50-year history.
Themed âAround the World,â the international broadcast was co-hosted by Head of School Carson A. Thurber â02, and Alumni Coordinator Morgan Taylor.
