Commuter alert: Many MTA bus delays, detours; Verrazzano upper level reopened

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Notify NYC is warning that snow-covered roads may be difficult to maneuver on Tuesday morning during the nor’easter and the MTA is reporting significant changes in bus service on Staten Island.
“Buses are running on a reduced schedule throughout the city because of the snow storm,” according to the MTA. “Expect longer waits and travel times. Only travel if it’s essential.”
Most MTA limited-stop bus service has been suspended on Tuesday because of the storm. Affected routes include the S84, S90, S91, S92, S94, S96, S98, according to the MTA. Riders are advised to switch to local buses along those routes.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Riders of the Staten Island Ferry will be waiting a little longer between boats on Monday.
As New York City continues to be hammered by a nor’easter that could drop over 20 inches of snow across the boroughs, the Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced that Staten Island Ferry service has been shifted to hourly until further notice.
