Now stalking Stone Zoo: animatronic dinosaurs By Cindy Cantrell Globe Correspondent,Updated April 23, 2021, 12:44 p.m. Email to a Friend An animatronic euoplocephalus roars at the T Rex Adventure, which runs at the Stone Zoo in Stoneham through Sept. 6.Zoo New England Starting this month, visitors to Stone Zoo in Stoneham can walk among the giants that ruled the earth during prehistoric times, as well as the creatures large and small that inhabit it today. T. Rex Adventure, a new exhibit that runs through Sept. 6, features an assortment of roaring animatronic dinosaurs. They include a 42-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex, the fierce predator that stalked North America about 70 million years ago, and a 20-foot-long Plateosaurus, the long-necked plant-eater that used sharp thumb claws for defense against enemies during the Late Triassic period more than 200 million years ago.

Free Admission to Local Attractions Over April Vacation School vacation week is coming up and Highland Street Foundation has partnered with the New England Patriots Foundation and several nonprofit organizations to provide free educational and cultural experiences for families during the break. April vacation is from Monday, April 19 to Friday, April 23. According to the release, Spring Week offers free admission to nearly two dozen facilities that will be available to the community during that time. Each organization has a designated day to participate in Spring Week, and you can find the full schedule HERE. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to explore The Patriots Hall of Fame, Franklin Park Zoo, Discovery Museum, Eric Carle Museum, Stone Zoo, Capron Park Zoo, Mass Audubon, wildlife sanctuaries, and more. Plus, StoryWalks are scheduled at ten parks around Boston throughout the week.
