Man posed as a council worker to burgle elderly woman in Camden Harriet Brewis
A north London man who posed as a council worker in a bid to rob an elderly woman has been jailed.
Peter Kerrigan, 33, pretended to be a labourer sent by the local authority to gain access to the victim’s Camden home on March 17, 2020, police said.
The woman, in her eighties, caught Kerrigan in her bedroom looking through her purse, and he fled the scene empty handed.
Detectives used footage from a doorbell camera at the address and forensic evidence left at the scene to identify the 33-year-old.
