Annandale man charged with third-degree murder after overdose of 18-year-old An autopsy found the cause of death to be toxic effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine.  May 21, 2021 12:01pm Text size Copy shortlink: A 24-year-old Annandale man is accused of providing heroin laced with fentanyl to an 18-year-old South Haven man who overdosed this spring, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Stearns County District Court. Zachary V. Wolf was charged with one felony count of third-degree murder related to the distribution of a controlled substance. According to the complaint, law enforcement responded to a report of a dead body at a residence in the 4900 block of Bluehill Circle in South Haven on March 16. The deceased was identified as Landis A. Benton.

Man choked Woman, Threatened To Kill Her

Stearns County Jail (KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is accused of choking a woman and threatening to kill her. According to the criminal complaint, 37-year-old William Tell IV grabbed a woman around the neck and squeezed when she tried to leave him on Saturday morning. The victim says she couldn’t breathe. Law enforcement says the two had been arguing throughout the weekend. The woman says he told her he would kill her as he strangled her.  Police say Tell also said things such as “I hate you” and “you’re the worst thing that ever happened to me.” The woman eventually made it out of the home and left. She then called the police.

CLOUD  The man accused of holding five employees hostage during a bank robbery in St. Cloud last week was charged in U.S. District Court Wednesday in connection to the incident.  Ray Reco McNeary, 35 and of Waite Park, is accused of using force, violence or intimidation in taking money from a financial institution. McNeary was charged May 7 with seven felonies in Stearns County District Court.  According to an affidavit signed by FBI Special Agent Chad Schliepsiek, McNeary went into the bank shortly before 2 p.m. May 6. McNeary alleged fraud with his account and became enraged when an employee was unable to locate any accounts.

Ray R. McNeary was arrested Thursday night following a nearly nine-hour standoff at a Wells Fargo bank on the west side of St. Cloud. On Friday, he was charged in Stearns County District with seven felony counts. An affidavit signed by an FBI agent alleges McNeary violated federal law by using force, violence or intimidation while taking money belonging to a financial institution.
