AN AUDIENCE WITH Stuart Lancaster always makes for fascinating listening, and the Leinster senior coach is perhaps at his most insightful following a defeat.
On Sunday, Leinster went to France for the latest chapter of their hunt for a record fifth European title. They flew home to Dublin that night reeling from another bruising Champions Cup exit having been physically bettered in the second period by a monstrous La Rochelle pack.

With confirmation last week that Twickenham will host the Heineken Champions Cup final in front of a crowd, albeit limited to 10,000 fans, those tickets were like gold dust and sold out in no time in advance of the semi-finals.

Ross Byrne is a rugby enigma. When he replaces Johnny Sexton for European heavyweights Leinster he is sublime but he is struggling to make his mark for Ireland.
Leinster coaching duo Leo Cullen and Stuart Lancaster had enough confidence in the 26-year-old to give him the nod ahead of Sexton in the Pro14 final victory over Munster in March.
That means there will no alarm bells as the fly-half pulls the strings from the start in Sunday s Champions Cup semi-final against French side La Rochelle.

FORMER ALL BLACK and two-time World Cup winner Victor Vito has hailed Ronan O’Gara’s impact on La Rochelle ahead of their Champions Cup semi-final against Leinster tomorrow.
Vito, who joined the Top 14 club in 2016, has been impressed with the Irishman’s influence in La Rochelle’s rise since he came on board as head coach in 2019.
