Universal Studios Japan Opens Super Nintendo World on March 18

Opening was planned for February 4, but delayed due to new state of emergency
Nintendo World area will open on March 18.
The park had originally planned to open the area in late July 2020, in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but delayed the opening to prevent crowding, as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). (The Olympics event itself has been delayed until this year also.)
The park then planned to open the area on February 4, but this was again postponed in January due to the new state of emergency declaration for Osaka prefecture. The government lifted the state of emergency in six prefectures, including Osaka, on March 1.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings stated to the
Orlando Sentinel newspaper on Wednesday that, according to Universal Studios, its Epic Universal theme park is scheduled to open in early 2025. Epic Universal is slated to include Super Nintendo World.
The new park was initially scheduled to open in 2023 before construction delays took place due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Construction crews are now restarting work at the park.

“The games industry releases a work and iterates,” says McNicholas. “As users interact, living story worlds evolve. We see that in mass-audience examples such as ‘Fortnite.’ The dynamic that causes that is somehow so much more compelling than, say, a traditional model of beginning, middle and end. In this show, we’ve made sure each production is going to be very different.”
