Benjamin Lewis Wade, age 82, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, MO, with Rev. Eric Kurz and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial, with military rites, will be at Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed at all services. Memorials are suggested to Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Born October 8, 1938, in Wapato, WA, he was the son of the late Franklin Earl Wade and Merle Householder Wade. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1956 to 1962 in Hawaii. On February 6, 1960, he married Marlene Bird who preceded him in death on May 18, 2012. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in rural Sweet Springs and was baptized on April 18, 2005
