DMX’s memorial service to be held at Barclays Center

Rapper and actor DMX will be remembered on April 24 in a memorial service at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The announcement was confirmed by DMX’s former manager Steve Rifkind, according to
TMZ.
Details on how many people will be allowed to attend the ceremony are still being finalized, but following the public event, DMX’s family and friends will attend a private funeral service at a church in the NYC area. Capacity at the arena, which is home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the WNBA’s New York Liberty will be limited due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Washington: American rapper DMX who passed away on Friday (local time), after being on life support following an April 2 drug overdose, will be honoured by his family, friends, and fans in one of the premier entertainment venues in the country – the Barclays Center, on April 24, Saturday.
The late rapper’s former manager, Steve Rifkind, told TMZ that the event’s final logistics are still being figured out, including how many people will be allowed inside and how ticketing will work. Limited capacity will be in effect because of COVID-19.

X’s former manager, Steve Rifkind, reportedly revealed the celebration will take place at the arena on Saturday, April 24, with other details being finalized, such as ticketing and the venue’s capacity due to COVID. Family and loved ones will also reportedly later attend a private funeral service at a church located in New York City on the following day, April 25.
The news of the Barclays memorial comes days after DMX’s April 9 death following a heart attack. Since his passing, there’s been an outpouring of love for the rap legend, with his music streams increasing 900 percent as of Tuesday.
