Resident Alien co-creator Peter Hogan is enjoying his not-so-overnight success

In the comics business, patience isn t a virtue; it s a survival skill. Peter Hogan knows this well. He toiled in comics for nearly 20 years before launching his defining hit, Resident Alien, in 2011. It took another decade before the television adaptation would arrive. But on Jan. 27, Resident Alien the TV series will debut on SYFY. For Hogan, it s a bit of a surreal experience knowing the comic he co-created with artist Steve Parkhouse is now a cable TV series. When we talked with him earlier this month ahead of the show s launch, he seemed more relieved than anything else. It s really nice that it s happened and it s turned out OK. I mean, after all this time, Hogan says.

WIRE Buzz: SYFY s Resident Alien; Wonder Woman 3; and Rick Grimes

Ahead of its premiere next month, SYFY s Resident Alien TV show is here to remind us of Alan Tudyk s impeccable genre pedigree in a new spot. Over the years, the actor has played a pilot ( Firefly), droid ( Frozen), a king ( Wreck-It-Ralph), and more. At long last, however, Mr. Tudyk is taking on the role of a space alien, and not just any space alien. This particular E.T. is disguised as a doctor in a small Colorado town; he wants to keep a low-profile, but is soon drawn into a murder investigation, which makes him rethink his original plan to destroy humanity. The results are as hilarious as they are potentially world-ending.

Resident Alien cast talks SYFY s new dramedy in special BTS featurette

This Is Us? asks co-star Alice Wetterlund in a new, behind-the-scenes featurette for SYFY s Resident Alien series, It s sort of like that. Just, you know with an alien, too. The series, premiering in late January, takes place in small-town Patience, Colorado, where everyone has their own personal drama to deal with, and barely recognizes that a bona fide visitor from outer space (played by Firefly and Doom Patrol s Alan Tudyk) is walking among them inside the guise of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle. He may only have the most general understanding of human behavior, but awkward ol Harry could be the very thing the people of Patience need to solve a mysterious murder investigation.

The Weekly Round-Up #575 With S W O R D #1, Crossover #2, The Devil s Red Bride #3, Lonely Receiver #4, Star Wars #9 & More Plus The Week In Music!

Best Comic of the Week: SWORD #1 – I’ve been looking forward to this series since I first heard it was launching.  Al Ewing brings Abigail Brand back in charge of SWORD, only now it’s Krakoa’s space agency.  Ewing has a lot of qualities that remind me of Jonathan Hickman, and he embraces Hickman’s tendency to over-organize and think of things in terms of systems.  The Peak, the space station where this series takes place, is run by ‘The Six’, a group of mutants whose abilities complement one another the way the Five’s do in the resurrection chambers on Krakoa, giving the mutants a serious presence in space.  Magneto is our POV character here, giving us the lay of the land, but it is the rest of the cast that has me excited.  We’ve got (young) Cable, Manifold, and Frenzy in key positions, supported by mutants like Lila Cheney, Armor, and Random.  For people who love deep cuts, we’ve also got Peeper, formerly of the Mutant Force.  This book acknowledges the

Syfy Releases Trailer For Kooky Dramedy Mystery Resident Alien

Syfy Releases Trailer For Kooky Dramedy Mystery Resident Alien The show adapted from the Dark Horse comic will premiere on Jan. 27, 2021. Syfy has dropped a trailer for its upcoming series Resident Alien. It follows an alien who crash lands on our planet in Patience, Colorado and poses as Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle while he awaits a rescue after carrying out his mission to kill all humans. It s actually a bit more complicated than that, as the alien gets sidelined after being roped into solving a local murder meaning he must assimilate into his new world before destroying it. It s hard to convey the humor that s infused through the high-stakes tone the show trucks in, so see for yourself in the new clip below.
