Fabien Frankel has been cast in HBO’s upcoming epic fantasy series, House of the Dragon. He will play the role of Ser Criston Cole.
While relatively new on the acting scene, Frankel has previously starred alongside Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in the recent movie, Last Christmas. In addition to this, he also starred in the co-production between BBC One and Netflix, The Serpent, according to Variety.
Frankel will join fellow cast members Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, and Sonoya Mizuno in House of the Dragon.
House of the Dragon has added a new actor to its cast: Fabien Frankel (
The Serpent), who’ll play Ser Criston Cole, a member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s Kingsguard.
Deadline reported on the casting news, describing the character as a “common-born son of the steward to the Lord of Blackhaven. Cole has no claim to land or titles; all he has to his name is his honor and his preternatural skill with a sword.”
Author George R.R. Martin confirmed the news on his blog, saying that he’s “a challenger, a champion, cheered by the commons, beloved of the ladies.” From his common origins, he rose through the ranks and eventually became Aegon II’s Hand of the King, and played a larger role in the Dance of the Dragons conflict.
Paddy Considine
as King Viserys Targaryen, chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. A warm, kind, and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy. But good men do not necessarily make for great kings.
Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, and the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She was raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle; she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.
Westeros has just cast another resident.
