Private equity firm City+Ventures invests in Mente Group

You would not have expected it last year, but 2021 is set to see record investment into the business aviation industry. We have Signature going private and Wheels Up and Blade going public. Today, we saw a new target for investors – an aircraft brokerage and consulting firm.
Omaha private equity firm City+Ventures, is investing in Mente Group and forming a new company Aquila Aviation Ventures. This is thought to be the first time a private equity firm has invested in a brokerage.
City+Ventures already owns Millbrook Air, a management and charter company at Stewart International Airport in New York. This will also be merged into Aquila Aviation.

Mark Ruffalo Wins SAG Award for Show Filmed in the Hudson Valley
A show filmed in the Hudson Valley just won a major award.
On Sunday, April 4, 2021, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards were held on TNT and TBS. Multiple shows filmed in the Hudson Valley were nominated for SAG Awards this year, but only one took home the prize.
According to Buzzfeed, Mark Ruffalo won a SAG Award for an Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series. He won this award for his role in
I Know This Much Is True, which was filmed all over the Hudson Valley. In his acceptance speech, he talked about mental health. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant were also nominated for their acting in another show filmed in the Hudson Valley called

Lt. Col. Michael Hastings of Mechanicville, an Afghan war veteran, assumed command of the New York Army National Guard’s 101st Expeditionary Signal Battalion during a ceremony at Camp Smith Training Site, Peekskill, Orange County.
The battalion, headquartered in Yonkers, has elements in Orangeburg and Peekskill. Hastings leads soldiers who specialize in handling satellite communications for military units over vast areas of operation. The unit has deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. Hastings replaced Lt. Col. Ian Seagriff, who has led the battalion for the past four years.
