Convert Nectar Points into Avios and Vice Versa
(22 Jan 2021) British Airways has entered into a new partnership with Nectar, giving customers the opportunity to convert Nectar points into Avios, effective 25 January 2021.
Nectar is a popular loyalty card scheme in the UK which works with companies such as Sainsbury s, Esso and eBay, to name but a few.
The conversionof points works both ways, and customers who wish to receive more Nectar points can convert 250 Avios into 400 Nectar points.
To convert points, customers need to link their Nectar and British Airways Executive Club accounts, both of which are free to join.
Approximately 4,000 Avios points are needed to get
(21 Jan 2021) Qatar Airways has confirmed that it will resume flights to Atlanta on 1 June.
The airline will operate the route with four flights per week.
Qatar Airways will also add 13 weekly flights to operate a total of 83 weekly flights across its 12 gateways in the U.S.

WTTC Looking Forward to a Strong Summer of Travel
(20 Jan 2021) The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has said that more than 100 million jobs could return to the global travel and tourism sector in 2021.
Last year, during the height of the pandemic, WTTC warned that 174 million global travel and tourism jobs were at risk. However, in its latest analysis, WTTC’s most optimistic scenario predicts as many as 111 million jobs could be revived – but this would still be 17% below 2019 figures, accounting for 54 million fewer jobs.

(20 Jan 2021) ATPCO has purchased SITA’s fare management system, Airfare Insight (AFI).
The deal enables product consolidation with the integration of AFI into Architect, ATPCO’s new pricing tool.
Both companies have committed to supporting airlines during the migration period, which will see SITA customers adopting Architect.
The majority of AFI customers – including Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, and Xiamen Air – agreed to the transfer prior to the deal closing on 1 January 2021.
SITA will continue to operate AFI in 2021, while ATPCO and SITA collaborate with airlines on a timeline for the transition to Architect. The companies will also work together on knowledge transfers throughout 2021, leveraging
(18 Jan 2021) Qatar Airways has received the 5-Star COVID19 Airline Safety rating by Skytrax.
The rating follows a detailed audit, carried out by the Skytrax team in December 2020, which assessed how effectively and consistently the airline’s COVID19 hygiene and safety standards and procedures are adhered to, from flight check-in to on-board aircraft.
The audit included a full review of procedural efficiency checks, visual observation of hygiene and safety levels at all stages of the passenger journey, and on-board Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) sampling tests to measure the potential level of contamination of contact surfaces.
Qatar Airways’ home and hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA)received a Skytrax 5-Star COVID19 Airport Safety Rating in December 2020.
