The Idaho Guard s last contact with the Black Hawk occurred at 7:45 p.m., Col. Christopher Burt, the Idaho Guard s state aviation officer, said in the release.
The aircraft s Emergency Transmitter Locator device was activated shortly after 8 p.m., and Burt s team immediately initiated emergency aircraft recovery procedures, which included air and ground search and rescue crews, according to the release.

A NATIONAL Guard helicopter crash has reportedly left three pilots dead in Idaho.
The agency vehicle reportedly crashed south of Lucky Peak near Boise shortly after 8pm on Tuesday evening.

The victims have been identified as Chief Warrant Officers Jesse Anderson, 43, George “Geoff” Laubhan, 39, and Matthew Peltzer, 43.
The Idaho National Guard said that the personnel were taking part in a routine training flight.
Col Christopher Burt said that the aircraft was last contacted at 7.45pm.
The Emergency Transmitter Locator device on the aircraft then activated just 15 minutes later.
Crews located both the helicopter and the pilots at approximately 12.15am on Wednesday morning.
