Fermanagh man returned for trial as judge dismisses challenge over evidence

John McVitty - 07771987378 - A COUNTY Fermanagh man accused of perverting the course of justice has been returned for trial, after a judge dismissed a challenge around some police evidence. Derek Arthur Frederick McCordick (38), from The Commons, Bellanaleck, is accused of committing an act to pervert the course of justice by contacting a female by telephone on six occasions – of which five were consecutive days – encouraging and inciting her to withdraw a statement of complaint relating to other undisclosed matters. The calls are alleged to have been made on February 25, then March 1, 2 3, 4 and 5, 2019. Evidence disputed McCordick appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court last Tuesday, April 27, where a defence lawyer advised the evidence of two witnesses – both police officers – was disputed, leading to Preliminary Investigation (PI).

Enniskillen man returned for trial over a series of drugs charges

Enniskillen Court House. AN ENNISKILLEN man has been returned for trial on a series of drug charges. Shane Carty (30), with an address of Drumbawn Close, Drumclay, Enniskillen, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Tuesday for a preliminary enquiry. Carty is faced with 11 charges relating to incidents ranging over three years from 2014 to 2017. The charges include two counts of attempting to import a controlled Class-C drug, namely Diazepam. Further charges The 30-year-old also faces further charges of attempted possession of a Class-C drug with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of a Class-C drug, and possession of a Class-C drug.

James Balmer (85) of Cherryville, Enniskillen, appeared via videolink at Enniskillen Magistrates Court yesterday over five charges of indecent assault on a male. The court heard that between September 1 and 15, September 16, September 30 1989, and again between November 17, 1988, and November 17, 1990, Balmer allegedly assaulted two males. The defendant did not object to the holding of a preliminary enquiry with District Judge Steven Keown satisfied there was a case to answer.

John McVitty - 07771987378 - The first person to be charged regarding a series of historical child sexual abuse cases in County Fermanagh appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court today, Wednesday. 85-year-old James Balmer of Cherryville, Enniskillen, appeared via videolink regarding five charges of indecent assault on a male. The charges relate to alleged incidents involving two males on dates between September 1 and 15, September 16, September 30, 1989, and between November 17, 1988, and November 17, 1990. Balmer did not object to the holding of a preliminary enquiry with the prosecution putting forward that the 85 year old had a case to answer to. District Judge Steven Keown was satisfied there was a case to answer.

Lisbellaw man caught at two house parties in one night Posted: 6:07 pm May 1, 2021 SHARE A LISBELLAW man who was caught at a second house party after police had already moved him on from another has been fined for breaching Covid regulations. Christopher South (24) of Drumhirk Road, Lisbellaw appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday charged with two separate breaches of the current Health Protection Regulations. The first breach arose from the night of March 13 and the early hours of March 14. At around 11pm on March 13 police were called to reports of a house party at a residential area in Enniskillen. South, who police were aware had previously been issued with a Covid notice in January, was among those at the house.
