Excavation work has begun at a cafe where the body of a missing teenager suspected of being a victim of serial killer Fred West may be buried.
The noise of power drills could be heard coming from inside the Clean Plate cafe in Southgate Street, Gloucester.
Police have begun excavating the cellar after finding “possible evidence” suggesting the body of Mary Bastholm, who disappeared in 1968, might be buried there.
Gloucestershire Police had received possible evidence from a TV production company to suggest the body of the missing girl could be buried at the location.
