Parish’s Live-Streaming Mass Returns to Facebook February 3, 2021 Facebook still mum on what happened CARROLL GARDENS For the first time since Jan. 22, Sacred Hearts-St. Stephen parish “live-streamed” its daily Mass on Facebook Wednesday, Feb. 3. Facebook had blocked the parish last month for reasons that remained unclear Wednesday. The social media platform has not responded to media requests to explain the reason for blocking the parish’s daily Mass. Parishioner and technical volunteer José San Juan announced Wednesday morning that streaming Mass on Facebook had resumed.  “As of 7:50 a.m.,” he said in an email, “we are broadcasting live on FB!”

Jan 24, 2021 HOWLAND Sunday M. Racz, 54, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 20, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic, following a massive heart attack. She was born in St. Paul, Minn., on July 25, 1966, a daughter of Terry and Patricia Douglass. She was a graduate of Huntington Beach H.S. in California and came to Warren in 1989. Sunday retired this past March from Howland Giant Eagle with 20 years of service, most recently as a deli clerk. She was devoted to her family and loved babysitting her granddaughters and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, going to concerts, listening to music and was an avid Vikings, Browns and Indians fan.

Ecole Bilingue plans expansion on St Henry s Church complex

Blessed Pauline building at 4219 Constance St. The Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans received City Planning Commission approval last week to increase its footprint within the St. Henry’s Catholic Church complex with the use of a building for its middle school. The private French immersion school occupies multiple buildings and courtyards within the church grounds for its early childhood, kindergarten, elementary and middle schools. To give the middle school students room to grow in a building of their own, the school wants to lease the Blessed Pauline building at 4219 Constance St. Plans show the interior will be renovated into four classrooms, a science and technology lab, a music room and three offices. Educational facilities are a conditional use under the building’s zoning, requiring city approval before the work starts.

In the proclamation the mayor said: “Dr. Martin Luther King devoted his life to the single purpose of improving conditions for his race and left a record as one of the great religious and social leaders of our times.” MLK Day become a federal holiday in in 1986.
