Stamford High School s Ana Isaia tots up a distinction in British Mathematical Olympiad
A pupil at the Stamford Endowed Schools has achieved a distinction in the British Mathematical Olympiad.
Ana Isaia, who is in Year 12, got her thinking cap on for the two-and-a-half hour British Mathematical Olympiad and was in the top quarter of the 1,000 participants, who are invited from schools across the nation because they shine at sums.
Ana s maths teacher, Susan Manning, said: Ana showed an incredible performance, and this is a very well-deserved success.

Reflecting upon her experience with the challenge, Ana said: The way I see it, the challenge involves less maths, and more logic; less applying formulas, and more trying different approaches to see what works - and what does not!
