Reddit s WallStreetBets is crowdfunding a Super Bowl ad to sh t on Robinhood

Members of the increasingly popular subreddit r/wallstreetbets were in a fighting mood Wednesday, pointing to a thirty-second video the stock-trading app Robinhood currently plans to run during this year s Super Bowl. At issue, argue the redditors, is the seeming disconnect between the ad s celebration of retail investors (theoretically like them) and the fact that Robinhood prevented them from buying GameStop shares just last week.Â
At the time, the move by Robinhood appeared to disrupt an ongoing short squeeze and has led to over 30 class action lawsuits.Â
DaniLeigh previewed an upcoming single and some fans aren’t feeling it.
Last week, DaniLeigh shared a snippet of her new song “Yellow Bone.” Online users called DaniLeigh out for being a colorist. Dani responded to the backlash and said,
“why I can’t make a song for my light skin baddies ?? Why y’all think I’m hating on other colors when there are millions of songs speaking on all types.. why y’all so sensitive & take it personal .. gahhhh damn.”
Her response to the backlash didn’t sit well with some celebrities like Karen Civil and Chika. Chika Tweeted to Dani that her apology was a “terrible response to valid criticism.”
