P.S.U. Marches on Albert Street at High Noon

The oppressive midday heat did little to deter them from taking to the streets of the Old Capital in protest. News Five’s Isani Cayetano was downtown and caught up with the P.S.U. as they marched in solidarity against government.

Simultaneous Motorcades Held Across the Country
Last week Wednesday, the teachers from the Stann Creek District were the first to organize their motorcade in protest of the proposed salary cut and increment freeze. Today, they hit the streets of Dangriga again as part of the national action plan of the Belize National Teachers Union. Also in the far south, in Punta Gorda, vehicles lined the principal streets of the town for almost a mile as they are sending a clear message to the government that they won’t accept its initial proposal to rebound the economy. Wearing their green shirts and honking their vehicle horns, the teachers joined in the display of solidarity.
