Tees Valley leaders react to move to Tier 4 restrictions | Darlington and Stockton Times

All 12 local authorities in the North-East are moving into Tier 4 from tomorrow. Meanwhile, North Yorkshire will move into Tier 3 for the first time. Darlington MP Peter Gibson said: “Today is a bittersweet day for Darlington, as we have finalised their wishes from the 2016 referendum and got Brexit done with a deal, confounding those who said it could not be done. “However the acceleration we have seen around the country with record numbers of infections and hospitals reaching capacity moving our area to Tier 4 is essential to protect our hospital capacity. “I understand that this will be hugely disappointing and frustrating and especially so for our businesses.
