Dubai: Hot weather is expected across most parts of the UAE today again. According to the National Center of Meteorology, the maximum temperatures in the country will hit 49°C on Monday. However, eastern coastal areas are expected to see partly cloudy weather, with a chance of rain.
According to the NCM: The weather will be sunny in general, hazy during daytime. Low clouds appear over the East coast by morning, with chance of convective rainy clouds formation by afternoon Eastward, may extend to some internal areas.
In coastal areas including Dubai and Sharjah, temperature highs will be between 40-45°C. The maximum temperature in the internal parts of country will be between 45-49°C, and in the mountainous regions, temperature highs will be between 33-38°C.
Dubai: A man from Nepal has been accused of physically assaulting a woman and stealing her mobile phone while she was feeding cats, the Dubai Court of First Instance heard.
The woman testified that she went outside her residential building in Jebel Ali to feed stray cats when the defendant hit her head from behind with a rock.
“I fell on the ground and he stole my mobile phone worth Dh2,350. He dragged me to a nearby area, left me there and escaped,” said the woman in official records.
She alerted the police when she regained consciousness.
The defendant, who was arrested, told officers that he buried the phone in the area.
Dubai: Dubai Court of Appeal has overturned a conviction verdict against a man who threatened to kill a family, after a medical report showed that he had sustained mental anxiety. The Dubai Court of Appeal acquitted the man and ordered to put him in a rehabilitation centre.
According to official records, the 37-year-old employee had threatened to kill a man, his wife and daughter and also abused them via WhatsApp messages.
He was additionally charged with breaching the privacy of the woman by copying her private photos on his phone and threatening to share them with her friends to defame her.
