Hatch lauded for excellent roles

Social Share The late Anglican priest Canon Andrew Hatch was remembered yesterday for the way he executed his pastoral role, managing to balance spirituality with social action and thereby contributing to transforming the Anglican faith in Barbados and the region. In his tribute to Hatch yesterday, former Anglican Bishop Rufus Broome credited Hatch for being in the vanguard of the “indigenisation” of the Anglican Church in the region, through his association with the Caribbean Conference of Churches (CCC) which led that movement. In his virtual appreciation delivered to the late Canon’s relatives, friends and the Anglican clergy gathered for the funeral service at the St James Parish Church, Bishop Broome said Hatch had “a very disciplined approach to a balanced form of ministry, spirituality and social action”.
