What do you do for a living?
I work for the Department of Corrections. I was a correctional officer for 17 years and I have been a substance abuse counselor for the last 20 months.

When the Stuttgart City Council declared the mayor’s seat vacant on Jan. 5, they appointed city clerk Becky Burgess as interim mayor for the next several months.
“My job is to make sure the city runs as usual and that all the city services are rendered for our citizens,” Burgess said.
Burgess has been Stuttgart’s city clerk for two years. She was elected into the position after serving as deputy city clerk since July 2011 under former city clerk, Mitri Greenhill. She also worked as a clerk in the district court for a short time before making the move to city hall.
