Skoda Kushaq, easily among the most highly-anticipated SUVs in India at the moment, will finally be showcased to the world on 18 March. Underpinned by the Volkswagen Group s MQB A0 IN platform, the Kushaq SUV was previously known as the Skoda Vision IN SUV, which debuted last year right ahead of Auto Expo 2020. Please note while the Czech automaker will unveil the production avatar of the Škoda Kushaq next month, we don t expect it to be launched in India before mid 2021. The rest, we ought to know for sure by 18 March.

Skoda’s lineup in India currently counts the Rapid, Octavia, Superb, Karoq and Kodiaq, and starting later this year, it will grow to include the Kushaq as well.
The subcompact crossover is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform and features the brand’s new design language, with the easily-recognizable grille that’s flanked by slim headlights, a slightly arched roofline behind the B pillars and a tailgate design that brings it in line with other Skoda SUVs.
“The launch of our new Skoda Kushaq marks the beginning of a new era for Skoda Auto on the Indian subcontinent. It’s the region where we oversee all Volkswagen Group activities within the scope of the India 2.0 project”, said Skoda CEO Thomas Schafer.

Ladies and gentlemen, Skoda India has finally revealed what its upcoming SUV in India will be called! Previously referred to as the Skoda Vision IN, the car has been christened Skoda Kushaq. Zac Hollis, Director - ŠKODA AUTO India, took to Twitter to make the announcement and also explain the story behind the name. But before we get to that, it must be noted that the new Skoda SUV s name is in sync with the Czech automaker s naming strategy for its SUVs, i.e. every model s name starts with a K and finds a Q at the end.
