His blast came after Mr Harvie was asked on the BBC how close he was willing to tie his party to the SNP and if he’d go into a formal coalition. He claimed he did not expect the offer to be on the table from the Nats, who relied on Greens support in the last parly term to pass laws and Budgets.

In the reporting week to April 27th, sentiment in the US Dollar continued to soften as net shorts grew for a second consecutive week with a $2.34bln increase. In recent weeks, USD selling had coincided with renewed optimism in the Euro. However, with Euro positioning relatively unchanged the latest move had largely stemmed from Japanese Yen short covering with net shorts cut by $1.3bln. That said, as I have mentioned previously, the clearest guidance for USD/JPY direction is via US yields, which remain a key driver for the pair.

ALEX Salmond today admitted he feels “sad” about the collapse of his relationship with Nicola Sturgeon as he hit back at claims he said he could have “destroyed” his successor.
The Alba Party leader insisted quotes in an article for the New Yorker were “totally taken out of context” after the mag reported he had said of Ms Sturgeon: “If I wanted to destroy her, that could have been done.”

VOTERS would prefer Anas Sarwar to lead opposition to Nicola Sturgeon’s SNP, a poll found yesterday - as the Holyrood election scrap for second place descended into a war of words.
Research for Scottish Labour showed 40 per cent back party chief Mr Sarwar in the parly role compared to 22 per cent for Scots Tory boss Douglas Ross, with 38 per cent undecided.
