Winds stronger than 80mph and floods hit Britain, as Storm Bella swept across the country on Boxing Day.
Further downpours are due, with the Met Office adding 15-25mm is likely to fall in Wales and south-west England, and up to 40-60mm over some hills.
A gust of wind has been recorded at 83mph in the coastal village of Aberdaron in north Wales, the Met Office said, as Storm Bella began to batter the UK.
Parts of the country are already sodden after recent wet weather and flooding, with residents in more than 1,300 properties along the River Great Ouse in Bedfordshire were advised to leave their homes as water levels rose on Christmas Day.

LONDON: Storm Bella was likely to bring severe gales and heavy rain to the UK and Ireland on Boxing Day, forecasters warned.
Winds of up to 70mph were expected in exposed coastal locations of the UK and further downpours are also due, with the Met Office adding 15-25mm is likely to fall in Wales and south-west England, and up to 40-60mm over some hills.
Parts of the country are already sodden after recent wet weather and flooding, with residents in more than 1,300 properties along the River Great Ouse in Bedfordshire advised to leave their homes as water levels rose on Christmas Day. Further rain is expected on Sunday (today) and Monday and the area is one of three under a severe flood warning, meaning a danger to life, along with the Cogenhoe Mill caravan site and Billing Aquadrome Holiday Park, both on the River Nene in Northamptonshire.
Much of the UK remains subject to weather warnings as Storm Bella continues to bring heavy rain and gusts of more than 80mph.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning and communities from Cornwall to Kent have been warned to expect building damage and the possibility of flying debris.
On Saturday evening a gust of 83mph was recorded at Aberdaron in north Wales, with yellow weather warnings for wind and rain across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and northern Scotland into Sunday, indicating 60mph winds are likely.
Some 98 flood warnings - including two severe danger to life warnings - have been issued in England, six in Wales and 12 in Scotland.
