Scotch Corner services MOTORWAY services at Scotch Corner and Barton have applied to increase their capacities. Moto, which operates the Scotch Corner Motorway Rest Area and Barton Park Truck Stop, is looking to formalise a twin-site linked motorway service area (MSA) which will include extensions to both facilities and a signing agreement with Highways England. The applications have been recorded as two separate planning applications but with the request that they are treated as one package to be considered concurrently. It is proposed that the Barton site would accommodate HGVs, caravans and cars; with cars, coaches and motorcycles at Scotch Corner. The applicant advises of little in the way of operational works.
