Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who increasingly looks to be on his way out of power, said on Tuesday that s he s
willing to worsen relations with the US under the Biden administration if it means preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. An Iranian nuclear bomb is a threat for the continuation of the Zionist project and we must fight it relentlessly, he said at a ceremony on the occasion of Israel s new Mossad chief David Barnea taking the helm.
If we have to choose between friction with our great friend the U.S. and the elimination of this existential threat, the elimination of the threat will come first, Netanyahu asserted.

An unofficial ceasefire in Iraq has just been called off between powerful and established Shi’ite militias. Their renewed violence will be leveraged against the remaining 5,000 United States troops in the country.
In a statement on Saturday from a group calling themselves the Iraq Resistance Coordinating Commission (IRCC), the militia leaders slammed the executive branch of the Iraqi government for failing to push for clearer timelines of American military withdrawal, and not enforcing what little was agreed upon in April negotiations on the matter.
“By rejecting to exit its forces [from Iraq], the US administration has sent us a clear message that they

Editor’s Note: Because of my bike injury, I can now write with only one hand for the next couple of months. To help out, my dear wife Jo Ann has graciously written today’s Skousen Cafe.
My husband Mark and I were married in the spring of 1973 Patriots Day, to be exact. An unpopular war was winding down, and a president was being impeached. Inflation was heating up and production was slowing down.
That summer, we were facing lettuce shortages, beef shortages and gas shortages. By winter, I was lining up early in the morning to fill our tank with gas sometimes waiting for two hours or more. By 10 a.m., most filling stations were empty for the day. And by spring, I was looking into the eyes of my newborn baby, wondering what her world would be like.
Medical, Defense Face Shortage of Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors
Industrial, medical, and military demand for high-quality, high-voltage multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) has been hit hard by a shift in production by the world’s largest MLCC manufacturers who are focusing on a seemingly insatiable demand for smaller, lower voltage and in some way lower-performance MLCCs. This demand has been fueled by the global growth of 5G networks and continued advancements in smart phones and mobile devices who are consuming significantly more MLCCs per device.
As the principal manufacturers pivot away from the larger high-voltage, high Q (high-quality) MLCCs used by industry and the military, OEMs are experiencing significant delays in MLCCs of up to six months. The extent of the supply shortage jeopardizes product release schedules, industrial market share, and potentially even military readiness.
