(Instagram/ donbarrie) One of Britain’s “first gay dads”, who is engaged to his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, is treating his children to £200,000 worth of presents this Christmas. Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, 51, originally from Manchester, made headlines in 1999 with his former partner, Tony Drewitt-Barlow, when they became the first same-sex couple in Britain to be formally registered parents. Their surrogate mother gave birth to twins, Saffron and Aspen, and the couple became known as Britain’s “first gay dads”.  After the twins, they fathered three more children: Orlando, Jasper, and Dallas.  Barrie is now engaged to his assistant Scott Hutchinson, 25, who previously dated 21-year-old Saffron.
