Pittsburgh police preparing for potential fallout from Derek Chauvin verdict Michele Newell
As the nation waits for a verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, Pittsburgh police are preparing for the aftermath.
“For the trial with everything’s that’s going on, we are prepared. We’re not putting a lot of stuff out there, but we’ve met with other agencies in western Pa.,” said Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert.
Schubert said police will do everything they can to “allow individuals to express their first amendment rights.”
Local organizations are planning a day of action on the day of the verdict. The coalition organizer for the Alliance For Police Accountability sent Channel 11 the following statement:
