Top leaders at the University of Connecticut proposed scaling back proposed tuition and fee increases for the next academic year due to economic stress on students caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of a $625 bump in annual tuition for in-state students, the new plan would raise tuition by 2.2%, to $312 for the 2021-22 academic year.  The proposal was presented at a live-streamed town hall on Wednesday. UConn’s Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote on it Feb. 24.
