BUFFALO GROVE, IL Election Day is upon us. The polls in Lake County and Suburban Cook County open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and will remain so until 7 p.m. Election officials say that if you re in line by 7, you will be able to vote no matter how long the line is.
Buffalo Grove voters will weigh in on two contested races with Village Board and a Board of Education race.

Forest Service timber harvest report nearly completed
The Forest Service says that its timber harvest report should be completed within the next few weeks while conservationists and members of the timber industry await its findings.

With pressure from the timber industry, that is looking to keep jobs and maintain its timber harvest levels, and pressure from those that want to make sure that the forest is being preserved, the Forest Service faces a tough fork in the road.
After the final report is released later this month, the Forest Service says it’ll be the time to create a solution with all sides at the table.
