I take some issue with the Patch’s determination that Mr. Keefer is not a “lawyer”. The bar exam determines whether you should be licensed to practice. There are many lawyers who are unlicensed and do not practice. It might be splitting hairs to some, but achieving the degree itself allows for a legitimate use of the word “lawyer”…so long as you are not using it in a manner that would promote an idea that you have an active practice.

Scott Kaspar, a trial lawyer seeking to defeat incumbent
Paul O’Grady, released a video this week where he makes the argument that his rival engages in cronyism and numerous forms of political mismanagement. Blagojevich walks in front of the camera at one point in the video before awkwardly hovering near Kaspar’s table and eventually sitting down to join him.
“I couldn’t help but overhear you talking about politicians getting in trouble. Well, I know something about that,” Blagojevich said in a completely unsubtle reference to the corruption conviction that led to his prison sentence before Trump commuted him.

The arrest warrant indicates Kreczmer was issued a fixed bond of $25,000. For nearly two years, Kreczmer could have been arrested by any police department within Cook County. (Orland Residents for Responsible Government.)
ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL Orland Township Trustee candidate Lora Kreczmer posted bond on Tuesday afternoon after reports revealed she had an outstanding arrest warrant for three charges stemming from a car accident in August 2017, according to Chicago Ridge police. She is currently running on the Orland Residents For Responsible Government (ORRG) slate in the April 6 election.
According to Chicago Ridge police, Kreczmer got into a car crash Aug. 1, 2017, in the 10100 block of S. Harlem Avenue. The officer who wrote the accident report said Kreczmer was speaking with mumbled speech, she appeared to have a blank stare and her movements were delayed/deliberate. WORCESTER In the fall of 1990, Scott E. Casper, a doctoral student at Yale University, came to the American Antiquarian Society on a fellowship to work on his dissertation.
As a Kate B. and Hall J. Peterson Fellow he lived in the AAS s Goddard-Daniels House and went every day to the reading room and discovered new treasures, Casper said.
He was at the AAS for four months, Long enough to watch Worcester move from summer into winter, he said.
It was also an experience that transformed me as a scholar and as someone who thinks about American history.
Casper received his Ph D. in American studies from Yale, and the dissertation would eventually become an award-winning book, Constructing American Lives: Biography and Culture in Nineteenth-Century America (1999).
