The latest announcement from the Jackson Generals is not one local rap and hip hop fans wanted to hear.
Snoop Dogg is not coming to Jackson in 2021.
The legendary musical artist was first slated to come to The Ballpark at Jackson in 2020, but COVID-19 pandemic protocols forced him to reschedule, which was planned for this year.
The Generals posted a statement on social media Tuesday morning: “We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, Snoop Dogg will not be performing at the ballpark in 2021. All tickets to the show will be refunded. Please allow two weeks for refunds to process. If you have any additional questions, please call the Jackson Generals office at 731-988-5299.”

JACKSON, Tenn. Starting this summer, the City of Jackson and Waste Management are making it easier for you to get your garbage picked up.
Starting on August 1, the city will transition to curbside solid waste pick up due to a new contract agreement with Waste Management.
This transition includes providing residents with a 90 to 96 gallon rolling cart for when Waste Management comes to collect garbage.
Jackson Mayor Scott Conger says this will make it easier for resident to get the garbage collected twice a week.
“We’re providing new carts to all the customers, all the residents in the city of Jackson, all the households,” Conger said. “So we’ll change it to a curbside service.”

The proclamation was presented by Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris and Jackson City Mayor Scott Conger.
“This community will never forget (the fallen’s) service and their sacrifice for this community and for the state of Tennessee,” said Harris. “Thank you all that wear a uniform, no matter what your function is, because without you, our society would (be chaos). Thank you for your service we cherish the memories of those who have given their all in the line of duty protecting our community. We will never forget.”

Jackson City Mayor Scott Conger is hoping to bring Jackson into a new era with his recent push for the adoption of cryptocurrency in the city government.
The topic of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, however, is not a particularly digestible one for the average city resident.
“It’ll bring more opportunity,” Conger said. “It’s so refreshing to hear governments discussing different ways to finance things, besides ‘we’re going to raise your property taxes,’ or ‘we’re going to implement this fee.’ If we can find another way to do it, then that’s what we’re going to do.”
